Purċinella Press is Malta’s one and only Risograph printing studio. Aiming to soft open in March 2026, Purċinella Press is committed to producing high quality, beautiful, and unique Riso printed projects. The studio is run by multi-media artist Michelle Gruppetta (otherwise known as Funeral Biscuit), who fell in love with Risograph printing during her time in Denmark.
Purċinella Press combines Michelle’s love of illustration & bold colours by offering a range of prints, as well as a bespoke printing services and workshops.
At Purċinella Press, we try make our process as eco-friendly as sustainable as possible, starting with our chosen printing method.
Riso printing is an energy-efficient, cold printing process, that uses soy-based inks. We also do our best to source eco-friendly, sustainable paper.
We print, make, and pack our products by hand. Any prints or zines ordered are made entirely in-house. Our DIY approach hopes to promote the quality and care of artisan craft as an alternative to mass production.
Purċinella Press is currently based in Mosta. We share an entrance with a local vet. If you wish to visit the studio, but are scared of or allergic to any animals, please do let us know so that we can find a time for your visit when the clinic is closed.
